Tdh :
Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh), Switzerland’s largest children’s rights organisation, is reorganising its organisational model in order to get closer to children and young people in vulnerable situations in the thirty or so countries in which it is active.
In Tdh’s new organisational model, the HQ takes on the role of a centre of expertise in order to act effectively in favour of the respect, protection and promotion of children’s rights and to ensure overall steering, strategy, policies, monitoring and compliance and informed leadership.
Context :
Tdh has been present in Nigeria since 2008 and opened its base in Maiduguri in 2017. It operates in four regions of the country (Borno, Benue, Ondo and Cross River), in the fields of health, WASH, migration and child protection. Its approach is to work closely with the authorities and communities. In this respect, Tdh enjoys wide recognition and credibility among communities, state authorities and donors (DDC, ECHO, OCHA, IOM, DRA and Barry Callebaut).
Tdh operates in regions where insecurity is present, taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its teams. We are therefore looking for someone who is able to travel in these regions and who will respect the security measures put in place by the organization.
Responsibilities :
As a core program team member, the Grants and Compliance Officer is responsible for designing competitive proposals and ensures quality assurance throughout the grant management process (including budgeting, compliance, technical support, and reporting). S/he contributes to the business development including identification of funding opportunities, identification of intervention strategy and internal grants acquisition process. S/he is responsible of the grant from inception to closure including report writing, ensuring adherence to donor guidelines and Tdh policies. The Grants Officer collaborates with all various departments and stakeholders to facilitate effective and efficient grant management while supporting the Head of Program in implementation strategy, reporting, and programming coherence across the project locations.

Profile :
Education :
- Master/ Post-graduate in International Development, Social Sciences, Development Studies or any other related area.
- Relevant experience of minimum 2 years in program cycle management, preferably in an international NGO/Institution.
Experience & Competencies :
- Management experience in securing and managing funds from institutional donors (UN agencies, SDC, ECHO, EU, PRM, USAID) as a plus.
- Excellent planning skills, and a sound understanding of Program Cycle Management in development, emergency and protracted crises environments.
- Good administrative and numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to think strategically in relation to fundraising and donor engagement.
Languages :
- Excellent personal communication skills, in written and verbal English.
- Knowledge of French as a plus.
IT :
- Excellent Ability to operate Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Word, Excel & Power Point
Skills:
- This position requires social and diplomatic skills, team spirit, ability to work under pressure, coordination with internal and external stakeholders as well as technical, organizational and methodological competences.
- Required qualities: rigorous, organized, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Autonomy and proactivity are very suitable for the position.
Conditions:
- Swiss contract
- Gross monthly salary 2’450 CHF x13,36 months
- Insurances: sickness, accident, repatriation
