We are hiring a safeguarding adviser under the RSH programme, the position will be based in our office in Amman, with a focus on Lebanon.

Context :
The Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH) is a programme that aims to support organisations in the aid sector to strengthen their safeguarding policy and practice against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (SEAH). RSH supports organisations working in both the humanitarian and development sectors and is driven by the needs of smaller national or local organisations in developing countries. The Adviser will play a pivotal role in the delivery of effective and high-quality implementation of the Resource and Support Hub programme. The role will be responsible for team management, planning and coordination of activities, as well as stakeholder engagement and policy influencing.
Main responsibilities:
The Safeguarding Adviser will work as part of the wider MENA team to deliver the RSH programme in Lebanon to stakeholders. The role will lead the development, delivery and sustainability of capability building initiatives which support civil society organisations (CSOs) across Lebanon. The Adviser will be responsible for contextualisation and effective delivery of these activities, including working closely with the Country Lead and MEL colleagues to ensure the RSH programme is meeting the needs of the CSO’s in Lebanon is meeting. The role will be expected to travel (up to 50%) to meet with RSH users and engage stakeholders in Lebanon.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of FCDO’s leading safeguarding programmes. In the role as Safeguarding Adviser, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of contextualised capability-building activities for CSOs to strengthen safeguarding practices across Lebanon. You will lead the delivery of online and in-person activities, including mentorships, workshops, webinars, and peer-learning events. Working through the RSH digital platform and in collaboration with national partners, you will promote e-learning, foster engagement through the online Hub, and support a vibrant safeguarding community of practice. You will also manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the National Expert Board and wider networks in Lebanon, to ensure that learning, resources, and partnerships contribute to a strong, sustainable safeguarding ecosystem.
We are looking for someone who is patient, organized and adaptable, able to balance technical accuracy with good working relationships, and to approach their work with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration in line with the RSH values below.
Specific responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Capability-building activities, co-designed with the Global Safegaurding Lead.
Facilitate trainings, mentorships, workshops, and peer-learning events.
Identify, engage, and oversee the work of technical consultants for the RSH programme.
Promotion and uptake of the Hub activities and mentorship Community of Practice.
Online Hub Engagement
Promote e-learning with relevant stakeholders.
Promote the use / engagement and visibility of the Resource & Support Hub – including inputting into the design of the national hub web page and user feedback.
Identify, quality assure and on-board new safeguarding consultants to the Safeguarding Consultants directory on the Hub with a focus on Lebanon.
Moderate online discussions in at least one local language.
Organise the quality control of resources and translations, with guidance from the Translation Coordinator.
Promote and facilitate the participation of professionals in webinars and other online learning opportunities.
Programme and Hub Learning
Actively contribute to cross-regional learning between Safeguarding Advisers; this will take place through monthly regional working group meetings and ad hoc engagement.
Manage the collection of resources and publish them (in original language) to feed the virtual platform library, resources, and tools.
Organise and implement processed information and resources in written, audio and video format.
Governance
Recruit and manage a National Expert Board (NEB) in Jordan. The NEB will bring together diverse thought leaders and practitioners working on SEAH (and broader safeguarding agenda), providing contextualised advice, information, networks, and contacts.
Establish and maintain national level relationships with stakeholders and networks, including donors, CSOs, others in the aid sector working on safeguarding.

Experience / Skills :
Essential
Strong understanding of safeguarding networks, actors, and systems across Lebanon such as CSO’s
7+ years of experience in the safeguarding technical space
Work with civil society organisations in Lebanon.
Strong understanding of safeguarding networks, actors, and systems across Lebanon.
Demonstrated facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
Ability to translate complex safeguarding concepts into practical tools and guidance.

Desirable
Professional training or certification in safeguarding or protection.
Experience supporting organizational change, culture development, or systems strengthening related to safeguarding and ethical conduct.
Experience working on a FCDO or bilateral donor programme
Familiarity with digital learning platforms and online community engagement.
Experience producing clear, high-quality training materials and resources for diverse audiences.
Languages : English and Arabic are mandatory as they are working closely with local CSOs and CBOs and global team
