About Terre des hommes (Tdh):

Terre des Hommes has been working in Bangladesh since 1974, implementing integrated humanitarian and development programmes across Cox's Bazar, Kurigram, and Dhaka. The country programme focuses on Health, Access to Justice (including social cohesion and conflict resolution), and Migration, supported by cross-cutting expertise in Child Protection and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). TdH's interventions address both humanitarian needs and long-term development priorities, with a strong emphasis on resilience, localization, and systems strengthening. Following the large-scale influx of more than 800,000 Rohingya refugees into Bangladesh since August 2017, TdH significantly expanded its humanitarian response in Cox's Bazar to provide integrated and life-saving assistance to Rohingya refugees and vulnerable host communities. The response includes comprehensive interventions in Health, WASH, Child Protection, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), and Social Cohesion, delivered in close coordination with government authorities, UN agencies, and humanitarian partners.

Building on its extensive humanitarian experience, TdH is advancing an integrated Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus approach that links emergency response with longer-term recovery and resilience. The organization is committed to strengthening local capacities, generating evidence and learning, promoting localization, and leveraging programme experience to inform policy dialogue, advocacy, and sustainable programme expansion across Bangladesh.

Context:

Tdh has been present and active in Bangladesh since 1974 and focuses its work on Migration, tackling child labour, health, child protection, WASH, Access to Justice and humanitarian aid. We are currently working in Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, Ukhiya, Teknaf, Kurigram and Satkhira.

Description of the position:

Provide case management services to children experiencing violence, exploitation, abuse or neglect.

Specific responsibilities:

Case Management

· Identify individual cases through regular presence in the Camp, accept referrals from other agencies and community partners as well as Tdh non-CP Units, Tdh PSS, community and PM+ activities

· Conduct initial (rapid) assessments for CP cases and prioritize them according to risk priority level

· Develop case plans that respond to the needs identified in initial and comprehensive assessments, with the participation of the child, family and other family members when appropriate

· Regularly follow up to ensure all services and action points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed time frames. Ensure that progress is regularly reviewed.

· Regularly monitor and support children and families through home visits, phone calls, providing guidance, advice emotional support, and referrals

· Manage one Case Management Support Volunteer, conduct regular meetings with them and share meeting minutes with the supervisor

· Implementation of supportive supervision and coaching to the CM support volunteers.

· Coordinate with the Deputy Manager - PoM, and CM Technical specialist to arrange case conferences for complex cases and ensure children receive multidisciplinary supports

· Manage cases in line with Tdh and inter-agency SOPs, adhere to standard documentation processes and follow best practice guidance

· Work with lost children and reunify them with their families collaborating with other agencies

· Identify and register families for alternative care arrangement support.

· Regularly document cases using IA CM forms and updated CPIMS+, update databases to ensure a comprehensive record of the cases

· Ensure that data collection and storage respect data protection protocols and confidentiality principle

· Ensure timely submission of weekly and/or plans and reports to the line manager

· Collect feedback from beneficiaries on the case management process and implement any other M&E plans

· Support the supervisor in receiving and closing Case Management Emergency Fund

Child Protection/ Safeguarding

· Promote and ensure CM activities are in line with the Child Protection Minimum Standards and humanitarian principles

· Report serious cases of abuse committed against children to the CM technical Specialist. Strict confidentiality must be respected.

Coordination and representation

· Work in close collaboration and coordination with Tdh partners and the key actors (formal and informal community leaders, local authorities, donor representatives)

· Participate in fora and meetings held at the Camp level, when relevant and necessary

Other

· Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is upheld at all times

· Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities.

Profile: We are looking for a Case Worker with practical experience in Child Protection Case Management in camp context

Education: Professional diploma/ University degree in social work, social studies, psychology/ child’s psychology, counselling or any other related discipline

Experience and Skills:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of child protection/ protection/ SGBV/ social work/ case management

- Basic IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet, excel)

- Knowledge of child protection systems in Bangladesh

- Excellent knowledge of child protection issues and best practices (Child Protection and SGBV)

- Previous experience in dealing with complex child protection cases is highly desirable.

Languages:

• Fluent in Bangla and proficient in English (written and spoken)

• Fluent in Chittagong dialect

Salary: Monthly gross salary of BDT. 39,600/-
