About Terre des hommes (Tdh):
Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the Swiss leading organization focusing on child rights, based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is active in 27 countries with development and humanitarian projects. Tdh focuses its action on the following areas of intervention: Migration, Access to Justice, and Health, and through our expertise projects in water, sanitation and hygiene as well as in child protection.. Modern management and communication tools ensure the quality of Tdh’s projects. The Foundation constantly aims to improve its services.
Context:
Tdh is working in Bangladesh since 1974, with operations in Kurigram district, Dhaka district and Cox Bazaar district. Currently, Tdh is implementing programs on Health and Migration, integrated by the transversal expertise WASH and Child protection. Tdh interventions in Bangladesh are both in development and emergency context.
Description of the position:
The PSS Officer is responsible for providing support to PSS Assistants and facilitating structured and non-structured, static, and outreach, age, gender and needs-appropriate GBV and child protection activities to children, adolescents, and caregivers in the assigned Camps/ Host community area along with the Multi-purpose Centre (MPC) in addition to the camp setting. S/He will work under the direct supervision of MHPSS Technical Specialist.
Specific responsibilities:
Responsibility-1: Technical Support and Supervision
· Coordinate Child protection activities including MPCs and all its integrated programs implementation, Community-based child protection mechanisms, and adolescent clubs’ activities / according to the agreed plan of action.
· Organize meetings with key stakeholders at the local level, Implement and monitor project activities towards the realization of project outputs in a timely and effective manner.
· Coordinate with all agencies on child protection while working with the Camp in Charge, the donor, and other actors to ensure compliance with inter-agency and Tdh standards for implementing child protection activities.
· Monitor the progress of activity implementation to ensure the highest quality standards and accountability-based quality framework, the IASC and Tdh standards.
· Contribute to different Assessments including safety mapping and community consultations.
· Conduct outreach to identify the most vulnerable children (with a focus on the inclusion of children with disabilities and other vulnerabilities) and their caregivers and encourage their participation in child protection, GBV Protection activities and community engagement activities.
· Document registration, consent, referrals, and attendance in Tdh’s databases.
· Support Implementation of structured, non-structured, static, community outreach activities for well-being and building resilience.
· Prepare weekly/monthly work plans with clear objectives setting short-term, mid-term and long-term targets priorities.
· Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly /event report while maintaining time and quality.
· Prepare regular activity report and contribute to monthly programmatic reports as per need.
· Facilitate internal and external referrals of children in need of additional support, care or protection and other specialized support.
· Conduct participatory M&E activities to collect beneficiaries’ feedback and opinions on the quality and satisfaction with the activities and ensure this feedback informs implementation.
· Support in preparing PR and ensuring required supplies for the project on time.
· Provide supervision to PSS Assistant with the support of MHPSS Technical Specialist.
· Support the PSS Assistants by providing effective mentorship, coaching and guidance to community volunteers, security guards and other volunteers.
· Collect quantitative and qualitative data, data entry and the safe and confidential documentation storage.
Responsibility-2 : Capacity Building
· Provide training and mentoring support to community volunteers on required topics, including Child Protection, MPC management, communication with children, PFA, creative activities, positive discipline, life skills and the use of local traditional materials.
· Plan CP mainstreaming with other response staff to implement project activities that adhere to the policeis
· Disseminate Tdh, GBV and CP sub-sector’s tools and guidelines, protocols and SOPs to all the team members in the respective camp and ensure they understand it properly.
· Conduct orientation on CP, GBV Protection, PSEA, Codes of Conduct and ensure every new staff sign the policy documents and volunteer, visitors, and casuals involved in children activities adhere to them.
· Map potential local or community-level CP – GBV partners/ Stakeholders, identify their strengths and capacity, gaps and develop a capacity-building plan for them.
· Conduct regular meetings (weekly based with staff and monthly meetings with parents, volunteers and community leaders and use them as coaching opportunities on CP issues.
Responsibility-3: Coordination, Networking, Representation, Documentation:
· Represent Tdh in child protection focal meetings, Camp coordination, and meetings at the Camp level and establish strategic partnerships with other CP actors in that camp.
· Establish appropriate contacts with local counterparts at all levels within the camp.
· Establish and maintain efficient coordination and collaboration with target beneficiaries, community members, Tdh partners, CP and non-CP actors, formal and informal authorities, Site management, CiCs and other key actors.
· Participate in forums and meetings held at the Camp level in Her/ His field of expertise, when relevant and necessary;
· Facilitate internal /external visits at the MPCs when required.
· Assist and cooperate during internal or external monitoring visits.
· Maintain proper documentation of project activities, maintain inventory, stock and proper utilization of supply items
· Maintain liaison with CiC office and other government and non-government stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted project implementation.
· Provide support in needs assessment, prepare and submit project completion report, monthly report, collect relevant data and facilitate distribution, if any.
Responsibility-4 : Child Protection/ Safeguarding :
· Ensure all staffs including PSS Assistant and volunteers and oriented and signed on Tdh Safeguarding policy,
· Conduct regular refreshers session on safeguarding and other CoC related awareness raising sessions.
· Ensure safe, accessible, child-sensitive reporting mechanisms are in place for reporting any kind of safeguarding concerns.
· Promote inclusion and equal access for every child, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and at-risk children and children with disabilities.
· Always maintain strict confidentiality regarding information and data sharing of beneficiaries.
· Report serious cases of abuse committed against children to the line manager; strict confidentiality must be respected.
· Promote, and ensure project activities are in line with the Child Protection Minimum Standards and humanitarian principles.
· Ensure that project activities are well-integrated in the Bangladesh Child Protection System and humanitarian coordination practices and guidelines.
· Ensure Tdh Global Code of Conduct is respected at all times, cases of abuse are reported through established reporting channels in a timely and confidential manner.
· Fully comply with Tdh Global Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Standards are upheld at all times.
· Adhere to and ensure the team/s under Her/His responsibility follows Tdh administrative and logistical regulations and procedures
Other
· Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is upheld at all times
· Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities.

Profile: We are looking for a Psychosocial Support Officer with a minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing GBV and CP program within Rohingya context
Education:
Master's in Psychology, Social Science, Anthropology, Gender Studies, LL.B (Hon’s) or any other relevant subjects
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing GBV and CP program within Rohingya context is desired for this position.
Good conceptual and practical Knowledge on the Child Protection System in Bangladesh
Good knowledge and skills in GBV programming, Child Protection minimum standard and Child Protection in Emergency
Community engagement and participation
Excellent communication, negotiation, networking skills and active listening abilities.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and adaptive to local culture and situations effectively.
Understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
Team player with the capacity to work collaboratively within a team.
Languages:
Mandatory written and spoken languages: Bengali and English both written and verbal
Languages appreciated: Ability to speak Chittagong/Rohingya

Salary: Monthly gross salary of BDT. 55,800
