Context:
Tdh has been present and active in Bangladesh since 1974 and focuses its work on Migration, tackling child labour, health, child protection, WASH, Access to Justice and humanitarian aid. We are currently working in Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, Ukhiya, Teknaf, Kurigram and Satkhira.
Description of the position:
The Child Protection Officer is responsible for providing support to Child Protection Assistants to facilitate structured and non-structured, static, and outreach, age, gender and needs-appropriate GBV and child protection activities to children, adolescents, and caregivers in the assigned Camps/ Host community area along with the Multi-purpose Centre (MPC) in addition to the camp setting. S/He will work under the supervision of MHPSS Technical Specialist and Child Protection Project Manager.
Specific responsibilities:
Responsibility-1: Technical Support & Supervision
Coordinate and implement child protection (CP), MPC, and community-based activities.
Monitor project progress, quality standards, and reporting.
Engage stakeholders, CiC, donors, and partners to ensure compliance.
Conduct outreach to identify vulnerable children and ensure their participation.
Maintain proper documentation (registration, referrals, attendance, reports).
Prepare work plans and regular (weekly/monthly/quarterly) reports.
Support referrals and participatory M&E activities.
Supervise CP Assistants and mentor volunteers and staff.
Ensure data collection, entry, and confidentiality.
Support CBCPC meetings and provide technical guidance.
Responsibility-2: Capacity Building
Train and mentor volunteers and staff on CP, PFA, life skills, and related topics.
Disseminate CP/GBV tools, SOPs, and policies.
Conduct orientations on safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct.
Map stakeholders and support capacity-building plans.
Strengthen CBCPC through training and coaching.
Conduct regular coordination and coaching meetings.
Responsibility-3: Coordination, Networking, Representation, documentation:
Represent Tdh in CP and camp-level meetings.
Maintain coordination with beneficiaries, partners, CiC, and stakeholders.
Support monitoring visits, reporting, and documentation.
Manage inventory, logistics coordination, and liaison with authorities.
Assist in needs assessments, reporting, and distribution activities.
Responsibility-4: Child Protection & Safeguarding
Ensure adherence to safeguarding, Code of Conduct, and CP standards.
Conduct awareness and refresher sessions on safeguarding.
Maintain confidential reporting mechanisms and data privacy.
Promote inclusion and protection of vulnerable children.
Report protection concerns and ensure compliance with humanitarian standards.
Other
Ensure compliance with Tdh policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Responsibilities may evolve based on project needs.

Profile: We are looking for a Child Protection Officer (Female) experienced in implementing CP and GBV activities, supervising field teams, and supporting community-based mechanisms, with strong skills in coordination, reporting, and safeguarding in humanitarian settings.
Education: · Masters and Bachelor’s in Psychology, Social science, LL.B (Hon’s), Anthropology, Gender Studies or other relevant discipline
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing GBV and CP program within Rohingya context is desired for this position.
Clear Understanding GBV and Child Protection.
Knowledge of the Rohingya refugee crisis and Response
Excellent training and facilitation skills
Competencies

Good conceptual and practical Knowledge on the Child Protection System in Bangladesh
Good knowledge and skills in GBV programming, Child Protection minimum standard and Child Protection in Emergency

Understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy.

Languages:
Fluent in Bangla and proficient in English (written and spoken)
Speaking and understanding the local language is mandatory.
IT Knowledge:
Advanced IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet etc.)
Work Environment:
Must be willing and able to travel to the camp location five days a week.
Project locations are in remote areas in refugee camps. Staff is expected to live in his/her base location.
Salary: Monthly gross salary of BDT. 55,800
In addition to the salary, the employee will be entitled to the following benefits in line with Tdh policies:
